Veritas is such a cutie. I actually wore my hair like that once, just to test if it would be too impractical to give to a character. Turns out it really gets in the way of stuff (especially eating spaghetti), and people look at you strangely. But I decided to use it anyway. My backgrounds still suffered quite a bit, mostly from an unwarranted and liberal use of Photoshop textures. By this time I had switched to using gradients to color eyes. Definitely better than before, but still terribly flat.
